Italian label Sauroid is set to release a great new EP from the musical monolith that is Antoni Maiovvi. To our ears this is his most accompished work yet reaching into the realms of a more pop orientated disco sound- albeit the pop sounds of the eighties. The faint glimmer of new wave and synth pop always present within Anton's work has now become a steady glow and is best showcased within 'Fingerprints'. Starting with the kind of twinkly arpeggio I thought only Larry Heard was capable of the track then cascades into an eight minute work out that brings to mind Martyn Ware era Human League.

Out of a sterling cast of remixers you will see that V&B have put an effort in- although it is in fact the work of Jack on his own. Credit is due here as my compadre has excelled himself creating a tough ahem Jackhammer of a riddim and grafting on parts of Anton's original with aplomb. Hopefully plenty more where this came from!!
